Organic Solutions for Gardeners
A Guide to Managing 10 Common Pests in North Carolina Gardens
Welcome to Toxic Free NC's practical, illustrated guide to organic pest management for ten of the most common garden pests in our state:
If you don't know which pest is bugging your garden, try using our Illustrated Pest Finder to identify it!
Toxic Free NC created these sheets with home, school, and community gardeners in mind. The solutions they describe are meant to be relatively simple and inexpensive, and as friendly as possible to the health of gardeners, eaters, beneficial insects, and our natural environment. We wrote these factsheets using well-respected manuals and websites on pest management, and consulted several experienced organic farmers and gardeners in our state to add practical know-how.
We hope you’ll find the Organic Solutions for Gardeners series to be helpful, and share them with other gardeners who could benefit.
Thanks and happy gardening!

The Organic Solutions for Gardeners factsheet series was written with the needs of non-commercial home, school, and community gardeners in mind. Certified Organic growers, or those seeking a certification, should check with their certifying agency before using ANY insecticide. Some organically acceptable insecticides are approved for use in Certified Organic systems only against certain pests or in certain situations. |
