The NC House of Representatives' budget eliminated the Tobacco Trust Fund Commission, redirecting its money into the state's general fund. Tomorrow, the Senate will decide whether they'll cut the funding from their version of the budget, too.

Cutting the Tobacco Trust Fund could reduce the amount of money coming into the state’s general fund for critical programs by withdrawing one of the only sources of credit for new businesses in rural NC.
