Toxic Free News

Volunteer Superstars
by Ana Duncan Pardo
translated by Francisco Cabral, vea esta artículo en español

In this edition we’d like to recognize our fabulous team of volunteers, board members and staff working to put together Toxic Free NC’s annual fundraiser, LoveBug! In the spring we recruited a dream team of art gurus, local business owners, designers, fundraising experts and public relations aces, all working together to make this year’s LoveBug even bigger and better than the last one!

Team members Colleen Boudreau, Christopher Grohs, Erin Grohs, Nancy Halberstadt, Cheryl Hynes, Leeann Hynes, Alexandria Jarvis, Sarah Powers, Hannah Silver and Heather Yandow have been hard at work recruiting artists, finding sponsors and building a buzz for the event. And what an event it’s going to be! We’re up to our ears in gorgeous art for the gallery show, and we’ve got three rounds of artists lined up for the live art competition.

LoveBug 2010: The Great Draw-Off will take place on First Friday, August 6th at Epona & Oak in downtown Raleigh City Market (map). We’ll kick off at 6 p.m., starting with the kid’s round of the live art competition, and we’ll have two grown-up rounds as the evening progresses. The event will also include a gallery opening, exhibiting works with environmental, agricultural, and of course, insect themes. We hope to see lots of our local friends and supporters at the show!

Thank you to the many wonderful volunteers who have helped Toxic Free NC with special events and projects in the past few months:
