New Publication: North Carolina Toxic-Free Schools Update Our Toxic-Free Schools project has a new resource for community activists: the North Carolina Toxic-Free Schools Update. The update is a free quarterly newsletter designed to keep parents, teachers and other advocates for school pesticide reform up-to-date on efforts to eliminate pesticides from our schools. The updates also include “tips and tools” to help build skills for winning local pesticide reform. To find out more and subscribe to the updates, contact Billie at (919) 833-1123, or by email.

US Youth Soccer Drops TruGreen / ChemLawn Sponsorship We’re happy to share the good news that US Youth Soccer dropped their TruGreen/ ChemLawn sponsorship on December 31, 2004. More information. Many thanks and congratulations to all the Toxic Free NC Action Alerts subscribers who wrote to US Youth Soccer last October to ask that they protect young soccer players from dangrous pesticides by dropping the TruGreen/ ChemLawn sponsorship.

Say "Yes" to Public Campaign Fund on N.C. Tax Form
(Submitted by Democracy NC) Support the Public Campaign Fund for fair courts and fair elections by checking “YES” on your NC state tax return this year. Saying “Yes” doesn't change your tax bill and refund; it just transfers $3 to the new Public Campaign Financing Fund for each person who says "Yes." For more information, call 1-888-OUR-VOTE or go to www.ncjudges.org.
