Alison Maclennan - Office Manager

Alison grew up in Scotland, graduating from the University of Glasgow with a BS in Biochemistry. She worked in hospitals and pharmaceutical companies in Scotland and London before moving to America.

While being a stay-at-home Mom, Alison has been an active volunteer at her children's schools, a local hospital and Toxic Free NC. Alison made herself indispensable as an office management volunteer at Toxic Free NC, gaining invaluable experience in non-profit operations and bringing new order and harmony to our office.

Anna Jensen - Community Organizer

Anna grew up in North Carolina and loves every part of it, from the Appalachians to the Outer Banks. She was a Student Action with Farmworkers intern with Toxic Free NC in the summer of 2007 and has been hooked on environmental and farmworker justice ever since.

Anna can communicate in 2 languages, holding a B.A. in Spanish and English from UNC-Chapel Hill. She has worked with farmworkers in the tobacco fields of eastern NC, where she acted as a health outreach worker with the NC Farmworkers Project, and the Central Valley of California, where she conducted research for her master's thesis at UC Davis. When not talking to farmworkers or pondering how to bridge the gap between public policy and everyday life, she can be found in the kitchen concocting something involving lots of butter and sugar.

Fawn Pattison - Executive Director

Since 2001, Fawn has directed Toxic Free NC’s work to promote alternatives to toxic pesticides across North Carolina, especially where children are at greatest risk. Her focus is on bringing technical experts on pest control, human health and public policy into effective collaborations with communities affected by pesticide contamination.

An experienced community organizer, she was formally trained as a linguist, with a BA from the University of Virginia and an MA from UNC-Chapel Hill, and holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University and a certificate in Core Public Health Concepts from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Public Health.

Ileana Rodriguez - Development Director

Ileana was born in New York City and grew up in the booming metropolis of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has a BA in Art History and a BM in Music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her band was really big in Japan. She's an artist and designer at heart, and has an on-again, off-again romance with running her own handmade goods business. She spent several years working in the field of marketing and communications and ran her first successful fundraising campaign at the tender age of 15.

Ileana joined Toxic Free NC first as a volunteer, then a staff member in 2010, putting her skillset to work on grassroots fundraising and making our website and communications sparkle. In her spare time, she loves to grow, cook and can fresh organic local produce. When she's not in the office, look for her at the farmer's market, at the beach, or on her bicycle somewhere in between. 

Lynne Walter, MSW - Associate Director

Lynne has extensive community organizing and program management experience, including working with migrant farmworkers as a Student Action with Farmworkers intern, organizing against sexual and gender-based violence, and fighting for equal rights for all people. She serves as a member of the National Association of Social Workers-North Carolina Chapter's Legislative Committee, the North Carolina State University Department of Social Work's Field Advisory Committee, and Planned Parenthood Health System's Young Advocates.

Lynne holds a BA in English, a BA in Spanish, and a concentration in Women's Studies from Guilford College and a Master of Social Work in Community Organization and Communities and Social Systems from the University of Michigan.
